Working collaboratively with the Director of Teaching & Learning, other IB Coordinators, divisional leaders, and faculty, the Coordinator ensures a coherent, inclusive program. Communicate with parents about the MYP and support the Enhanced MYP transition.
Environment: Coordinate and monitor program development, MYP core components, and IB-mandated professional development. Lead the induction of new faculty to the MYP, and advise on master scheduling.
Culture: Consult on the development of IB policies, including assessment, language, inclusion, academic integrity, and admissions, and support review of admissions processes to ensure access to the MYP.
Learning (Curriculum): Support collaborative planning, unit development, curriculum documentation, and interdisciplinary units, and, guided by the Director of Teaching & Learning, contribute to vertical curriculum reviews and the Curriculum Renewal process.
Learning (Teaching & Assessment): Support teachers in implementing the Approaches to Teaching and Assessment, assessment moderation, and MLL strategies suited to boys’ and girls’ learning environments, including through class visits.
Learning (Students & Transitions): Support students and parents through transitions (Grades 5–6, 8–9, and MYP to DP), guide course selection and placement, and support the Personal Project.
Collaboration: Support the Principals in leading the Secondary Heads of Department meetings, and work with the English and Maths Heads of Department as a key member of the pathways team.
