ISB seeks a High School English teacher with skill and experience teaching High School English. The ideal candidate will have experience across a range of courses in the English subject area, with an interest in developing innovative and engaging courses. The successful candidate is an excellent teacher, a team player, a positive collaborator, uses technology appropriately, is student-centered, and ignites students’ interest in English through their passion and engaging and up-to-date pedagogy.
Core Responsibilities
Teach five high school courses.
Serves as an Advisor in the High School Advisory Program.
Collaborate as an effective member of high school teams (PLC, Department, Grade Level, etc.)
Positively contribute to school culture through the support and sponsorship of a student club or non-stipended extracurricular activity.
Participates in professional development training and attends required presentations.
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and working with colleagues.
Ensures student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and /or program classification.
Provides a positive and safe environment in which students are encouraged to actively engage in the learning process.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A valid teaching license or certification
At least three years of relevant and recent teaching experience
Experience with, and a belief in, an inquiry approach to teaching and learning
Experience teaching English Language Learners
Experience using data to inform instruction through a Professional Learning Community (PLC)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching IB and/or AP
Experience teaching a standards-based curriculum using the Common Core Standards

Compensation
ISB provides a highly competitive compensation and benefits package that is commensurate with the candidate’s experience and aligned with global international school standards. The initial contract is a two year commitment.
