About this role

We are seeking a Primary School Teacher of Textiles and Technical Design (TTG) to join our team starting in August 2027. In this role, you will inspire primary learners by blending traditional craftsmanship with modern digital technology in a safe, innovative, and welcoming environment. You will nurture a classroom where every student feels known, valued, and empowered to explore complex concepts across two languages.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, deliver, and review competency-based, hands-on lessons that spark curiosity, creativity, and agency.

  • Innovation & Craftsmanship: Design engaging activities that seamlessly blend traditional craft skills (textiles, wood, metal, plastic) with modern digital tools and technology.

  • Safety & Resource Management: Safely guide students in working with workshop tools and materials; manage workshop safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and learning resources.

  • Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with primary homeroom teachers and specialist educators—including the Visual Arts team—to build rich, interdisciplinary learning experiences.

  • Inclusive Environment: Create a motivating, learner-centered environment using age-appropriate materials and safe, structured daily routines.

Requirements

  • High fluency and proven ability to teach, instruct, and communicate fluently in both English and German within a primary education setting.

  • Understanding of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodologies tailored to primary learners.

  • Skilled at supporting non-native speakers in both languages, celebrating linguistic diversity, and fostering language confidence.

  • Experience designing learning opportunities that nurture critical thinking, student agency, and social-emotional development.

  • Strong capacity to establish transparent, trusting relationships with parents to keep them connected to their child’s learning journey and well-being.

  • Dedication to building safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments where every learner feels empowered to stretch their thinking.

  • Experience working in a bilingual school setting

  • Skills and willingness to contribute to the wider school community through sports or activities

Experience & credentials

Minimum experience: 3 years

  • Relevant degree and official teaching credentials for Primary Education

  • Fluency in German (C2) and English

Compensation & benefits

Compensation

Depending on education and experience you can expect a starting salary of between CHF 85'000 - 102'400.
